Sun, sea and surf as Papa John's open first Cornwall location
As Papa John’s continues to ride the waves of expansion, it’s anticipated sun, sea and surf will be a recipe for success as the pizza franchise opens in Newquay, Cornwall. The new Papa John’s located on East Street, was officially opened by Deputy Mayor and Councillor Margaret North yesterday and creates 15 new jobs in the harbour town, also dubbed the surf capital of the UK.
Newquay is the first Papa John’s in Cornwall and will be run by franchisee Dr Renato Raho who also manages stores in Barnstaple and Newton Abbott, Devon.
“Newquay is a fabulous tourist destination and popular with families and surfers alike. In summer, the town’s population peaks at around 100,000, with visitors from around the world attracted to the stunning coastline and beautiful beaches. Now they can also enjoy the treat of Papa John’s! What can be better after a day of sun, sea and surf than the treat of delicious, fresh Papa John’s pizza shared with family and friends, making holidays even more memorable!”

Dr Renato Raho also has plans for further expansion throughout the Southwest region with some sites already secured to create what he describes as a “Cornish cluster”. He confirms: “Barnstaple and Newton Abbott opened in Devon earlier this year and although it’s early days, we are seeing solid sales with positive signs for further growth. Cornwall offers even more opportunities to tempt new customers and our aim is to take a slice of this market.”
Dr Renato Raho says: “There is something for everyone so come and see what’s on the menu!” Please see social media for special offers at Newquay Papa John’s.
