Papa John's celebrates 'baking' history by swapping its crusts for cake as it marks its 500th store opening
Papa Johns have now made their own day of history, with Monday 13th September being the grand opening of their 500th store in Ormskirk. The popular pizza delivery chain franchise has decided to to commemorate the occasion by swapping its crusts for cake in a sweet deal for its customers.
No celebration is complete without a cake, so Papa John’s has created three tasty hyper realistic pizza cakes and is offering a limited supply to customers free of charge.
The mouth-watering treats are based on three of Papa John’s most popular flavours, BBQ Chicken Classic, Double Pepperoni and Chilli Freak. The fresh dough, savoury toppings and rich tomato sauce has been swapped with a tasty rice krispy base covered in sweet strawberry jam and finished with icing, mimicking the delicious toppings of a Papa John’s pizza.
Giles Codd, Senior Director of Marketing for Papa John’s UK said: “We’re delighted to announce the opening of our 500th store in Ormskirk and there’s no better way to mark the occasion than handing out complimentary cakes to our loyal customers across the UK.
“What’s more, the opportunity for one of our customers to win a lifetime supply of pizza will truly be the ‘icing on the cake’!”
Papa John’s fans will need to be quick, as there is a limited run of exclusive pizza cakes on offer. Customers can be in with a chance of getting their hands on one by visiting Papa John’s.
If that wasn’t enough of a reason to party, to further celebrate the occasion, one lucky customer will also be in with a chance of winning a lifetime supply of Papa John’s pizza - the icing on the cake for any dough devotee.
