Jonathan praises franchise model after marking 20 years with Ovenu
Jonathan Fry is enjoying a record start to the year as he marks the 20th anniversary of his business, Ovenu Bolton.
During his two decades with Ovenu, the UK’s largest oven cleaning franchise, Jonathan estimates to have restored the sparkle to more than 13,000 ovens.
2022 also proved a record year as more clients sought to avoid large outlays during the cost-of-living crisis by having their oven regularly cleaned to help extend its life span.
Jonathan, from Westhoughton, said: “It’s difficult to believe I’m marking 20 years in business, which equates to restoring around 13,000 ovens to near showroom condition.
“I still enjoy my work, which has also given me a good living. Many of my original clients remain with me, and it’s the people that make this business so enjoyable.
“We enjoyed a record 2022, largely due to householders adopting a ‘make do and mend’ attitude, and that demand continued into January.”
He previously worked in the motor trade, specialising in refurbishing and selling vans, but became an Ovenu franchisee in order to secure a more reliable income after getting married. Oven technician Steven Torrance joined the business in 2016 to help meet the growing number of enquiries.
