"I wish I had done it sooner!"
After 16 years as a Prison Officer, last September Graham Kerridge made the big decision that the time was right for a change, so took the opportunity to invest in an Ovenclean franchise and hasn’t looked back since!
“In the event, the voluntary redundancy I had been offered was revoked, but I liked what I’d seen so much I accordingly booked myself onto one of Ovenclean’s ‘find-out-more’ franchise open days at their head office in the Midlands. It’s fair to say I was even more impressed with the franchise offering once my wife and I had attended the franchise open day – we left with huge grins on our faces and eager to get started!”
“The professional corporate image and interesting story stood out for me, so as soon as I could, I went online to find out more,” Graham explains.
Soon after, having secured a franchise loan from the bank to fund the franchisee investment, Graham began his initial franchise training with his business mentor - an established franchisee – and has continued to be busy ever since.
“The Franchise Head Office has been a huge support since my franchise launch to help increase demand for my services locally. They recommended I put together a Facebook page for my business and it’s been a huge success! I’d say about 40% of my leads come through this source now!“Another 40% of my work comes through recommendation and that’s one of the best things about the Ovenclean franchise model – once a customer has their oven cleaned for the first time, they are invariably delighted by the results and tell all their friends – meaning lots more business for me!” Graham enthuses. “I’m just into my second year and so I also expect to be getting lots more repeat custom - it’s fantastic!”
Life now as an Ovenclean franchisee is very different for Graham,
“It’s hard work but you don’t mind putting the effort in, as at the end of the day, you’re the one reaping the rewards. I once read a poem, which really struck a chord with me and I will always remember the key message – “Success begins with a fellow’s will; It’s all in the state of mind.” At the end of the day, you only get out what you put in and I’m determined to make my Ovenclean business a huge success.
“You’re not doing it alone though; the advice and franchise support I get from the franchise head office really is invaluable - I can’t praise them enough.”
When asked if he has any regrets about becoming an Ovenclean franchisee, Graham thought for a moment and concluded,
“Probably just one – I wish I had done it sooner!”
