Where it all began
Kevin’s journey within the hospitality industry started over 25 years ago. Over that time, he has gained a wealth of experience working in various managed houses and 5* hotels. The hospitality sector is an excellent industry to be part of, however the workload should not be underestimated! Kevin found himself working every weekend and holiday and only had one Christmas off over the 25 years (due to Covid). He has managed some fantastic pubs and enjoyed a successful career, but now it’s time for a change…
Taking the next steps
Kevin tentatively spent some time looking at various opportunities. He found that they did not offer the lifestyle or financial stability that he was after and continued in the pub industry. Time passed and he recently found himself in a situation where he could leave the pub trade and start a new venture. At this point though, he didn’t have a solid plan. Kevin was prepared to go back to employment, but his wise wife was adamant that he would hate it after being his own boss for so many years. They talked through the options and investing in a franchise became the topic of conversation. Kevin investigated this idea but didn’t find anything that really suited or interested him.
Everything happens for a reason
They say that sometimes things happen when you least expect it. And that’s exactly what happened for Kevin. He was on Facebook and came across Clear Brew. From here he investigated the opportunity further and was immediately interested in what we had to offer. Even though no experience is necessary, the opportunity aligned perfectly with his background and, when he found out that his region was available, it seemed as though all the pieces of the puzzle were fitting together nicely.

Kevin visited Clear Brew’s Central Office in Cornwall. At this point he was able to learn more about the business and see how we operate. He was also able to ask any questions and meet the team. Satisfied that this was indeed the right route for him, Kevin decided to join the Clear Brew team and take the next steps. This involved taking another trip to central office to complete the comprehensive training course. Kevin was impressed by the programme and equipment he was given and felt prepared to hit the ground running upon his return home.
Setting goals
Kevin has set some great goals for the first year of his new business. He wants to have Preston fully up and running with a technician joining his team. He also hopes to get prospecting in Blackpool underway and work towards to making it just as successful. He will then be able to take on another technician to cover the Blackpool area.
It’s not all work and no play
Of course, part of the reason Kevin invested in a Clear Brew franchise was to improve his work/life balance. Sport is a big part of Kevin’s life, and he enjoys watching cricket with his whole family. His ultimate goal is to watch England play cricket in the West Indies. Sport aside, he enjoys food, drink and frequent trips to the theatre with his wife.
A life changing move
Kevin firmly believes that the Clear Brew franchise will massively change his life for the better. He looks forward to embracing the change in lifestyle and having time back again to spend with his family. By stepping outside his comfort zone and embarking on this new business venture, he feels revitalised and motivated to grow.
