Key points of interest from the Survey;
- Turnover Generated within the Franchise sector hit £17.2bn, this is up 2.1 billion since 2015
- The total number of people employed within Franchising was recorded at 710,000, this up by 14% since 2015 (89,000)
- There was a 4,400 increase in franchised units since 2015 in the UK, it's now at 48,600
- 18% of all franchisees are now under the age of 30
- New Franchisees are being purchased by females, it's now up to 37% of all new franchised units being acquired
- The total percentage of people being employed within franchised businesses are in fact female
- 40% of franchised systems can be operated from a home office (wore from home franchises)
- A staggering 6 in 10 franchised units turn over more than £250,000
- Multi-unit franchising is on the up at 36% - a 7% increase since 2015
