Sarah Slaven, Operations Director of Business Durham and sponsor of Employer of the Year category said “Business Durham was pleased to sponsor the award as small businesses play such an important role in creating and sustaining employment across our region. Congratulations to Helen Ross of Bright & Beautiful for winning the award this year, who is clearly very passionate about being an ethical employer and has made this an integral part of her business success to date.”
Thrilled to win this accolade, Helen Ross added, “I was delighted to hear our name announced as winners for the whole of the North East, particularly as we only launched just over a year and a half ago and it has been an amazing journey so far. As a business we pride ourselves on being an ethical employer and it is so important to find the right people, take care of them and empower them to grow with the business. Nothing gives me more pleasure knowing that my staff love their jobs and want my business to succeed. Having a ‘Trusted Team’ is one of Bright & Beautiful’s brand pillars and I definitely embrace this within my business.
“As a business, we are aiming to clean up the cleaning industry and educate people that there is a huge difference between one cleaning company and another. I hope this award continues to raise awareness of our service and what we stand for as a business. I could not have done this without the continued support of my family, our fantastic team of housekeepers and our loyal customers’, so a big thank you to all of them. I’m looking forward to the national awards in May in London so we can fly the flag for the north east!”
The FSB Business of the Year 2019 finals will take place at an awards dinner in London on 23 May with over 500 guests made from area winners, the judges, sponsors, media, MP’s and industry business leaders.
