Manchester welcomes new Driver Hire franchisee
Mahomed Imtayas has bought Driver Hire’s Manchester South franchise from long-standing owner, Mike Moores.
Mahomed has an interesting CV. He was born in Malawi and has a background in accountancy. He moved to the UK in 1976 before returning to Malawi in 1996 to run his own stationery business. He then returned to the UK earlier this year aiming to start his own business here.
“I was attracted to franchising because the resources behind it enable me to compete on a level playing field with businesses of every size,” says Mahomed. “In addition, because Driver Hire has been trading successfully for over 30 years, you’re buying into a proven business model.”
As the business grows Mahomed is planning to have his son and daughter working alongside him. “I’m really excited by the prospect of running my own Driver Hire franchise with my family and, of course, looking after the driver recruitment needs of local businesses."
Welcoming Mahomed to Driver Hire’s nationwide network, Graham Duckworth, Driver Hire’s Franchise Sales Director said: “We wish him well and look forward to supporting and helping Mahomed to develop his business. Mahomed has made a great decision to invest in a Driver Hire franchise. Average annual turnover across our 100 office network is now over £1.1m, well ahead of the overall franchise industry figure.”
Franchising since 1987, Driver Hire is a specialist recruitment business. It’s one of the UK’s leading suppliers of temporary and permanent drivers and other logistics staff to organisations in both the public and private sector. Reflecting its success, Driver Hire is a five time bfa ‘Franchisor of the Year’ award winner.
