Introducing the NatWest EWIF Awards 2019 Keynote Speaker
The EWIF Awards 2019, sponsored by NatWest, are back with a bang. This year’s keynote speaker is a formidable business woman; a sensitive and empathic powerhouse. Introducing, Penny Power OBE, author of: Business Is Personal: Be the Leader of Your Life and Business.
Taking place in London, on Wednesday 1st May 2019, is the 9th NatWest EWIF Awards. This is the biggest event in the EWIF calendar, allowing us to celebrate some of the wonderful achievements of women within franchising. Achievements such as “New Woman in Franchising”, and the success of the “Young Woman in Franchising”.
The Awards keynote speaker is always a highlight of the event, and this year is no exception. Penny Power is widely regarded as the pioneer behind LinkedIn, is the founder of three successful businesses, is happily married, has raised three children, enjoys travelling, and has an OBE under her belt. In 1998, she saw the internet provided a way for business people to connect online and created Ecademy, the world’s first social network for business. Ecademy pre-dated LinkedIn by four years.
As anyone in franchising can attest to, there is a lot of pain, challenge, and adversity in business, much of which Penny has experienced throughout her two-decade journey. As a sensitive young woman, she was conditioned to believe this was dis-empowering and negative. However, Penny realised you do not have to be tough, if you are going to excel in the world of business. She now believes her empathetic nature, sensitivity and emotions are her strength, so wants to share her journey of self-discovery with others who share her old beliefs. Penny is also an author, and will be sharing highlights from her latest book, ‘Business is Personal’ around the importance of humanity within business.
