Franchising in 2023 and the trends
Looking start your own business in 2023? Then franchising must be an option. We look at the franchising in 2023 and look at some of the top industries to start your new career.
With the continued development, and usage, of the internet, brick-and-mortar retail operations seem to be fading in popularity as people order online. Books are delivered via the mail or downloaded to a tablet digitally, and hospitality businesses are shutting down in droves, which was made worse with the pandemic. However, franchising itself is not a business. It is a type of business model. As such, franchising is alive and well and we predict franchising in 2023 will continue to grow and develop here in the UK.
1) Learning and Educational franchises
You may remember our list from last year where we had the tutoring sector firmly placed in our trends to watch in 2022. This trend looks set to continue into 2023. The pandemic has pounded schools, and a healthy segment of parents are concerned with the lack of education received during that time. As such, home-education and parent-teaching franchises are expected to gain and maintain popularity.
2) Health franchises
We have been seeing a rise in awareness to our health for several years now but with the pandemic this has only intensified our need for professional health care. This tied into an aging population means that health care providers are always going to have customers, and this will only increase as the population continues to live longer lives.
3) Van Based Restaurants
I know I know, we just said how hospitality sector suffered the worse from the pandemic, but this is different. Bricks and mortar-based restaurants are still suffering but we are seeing the popularity of van-based food businesses offering excellent food. These small van-based businesses don’t have to deal with expensive rent, or bricks and mortar overheads, typically seen. And they can move locations as and when they need to. Consequently, in terms of market, food-delivery franchises can easily become a mainstay business for small towns that could not otherwise support a location-based business.
4) Pet franchises
Now this one is directly related to the affects of the pandemic. While pet-based businesses were seeing increase in demand for their services pre pandemic, now these services are vital to so many who bought pets while they were trapped in their homes. Now that we are slowly returning to offices, our pets still need walks, visits, and food. For this reason, its one our sectors to watch in 2023.
