Continuous support is greatly received by Lakeland's Sussex Franchisee

Simon Crowter started his franchising journey in June 2021 when he opened the Sussex franchise territory. Thankful for the level of franchise support he has received so far, Simon commented that there is always someone at the other end of the phone.

“There’s always someone to chat to. Even Russell, Lakeland Verandahs’ CEO, is able to assist.”

For Simon, who had no prior experience in the decking and fencing market, it was crucial to be able to receive guidance from the very top of the business, as well as franchisees going through the same experiences as him.

Fortunately, Simon confirmed: 

“Even the other franchises are available for help and advice.”

Relieved to know that the other franchises did not treat each other like competition, Simon believes that learning from each others’ mistakes and successes has contributed to their growth as a team, and the open and friendly culture of the network has helped him build relationships with people at every level.

After conducting his due diligence and research into potential franchising opportunities, Simon was originally drawn to Lakeland Verandahs because of the level of franchise support provided to it's franchise network.

This has certainly lived up to expectations.

Simon takes weekly sales calls for advice and has been provided with numbers to seek advice for installations, should he ever need extra guidance or come across any issues.

Simon is happy in his role as the Sussex branch owner and the career change has meant he is learning all the time.

“I am certainly enjoying the franchise. I have learnt a lot while working on site doing installations.

“We are learning and developing our skills a lot with the help of Paul Yates, Lakeland Verandahs’ Head of Business Development.”

As for what he would tell someone considering becoming a Lakeland Verandahs franchisee, Simon attributes hard-work, a little patience and listening to Lakeland Verandahs’ dependable expertise as a sure way to see positive results.
