Ableworld Southampton rewarded for their work in the community

Ableworld, one of the country’s largest mobility retailer, just held its fourth annual franchise conference in March and was pleased to announce Ableworld Southampton as their Emerging Franchise of the Year.

Being part of, and making a difference in the local community is a big part of what makes a successful Ableworld franchisee. Ableworld’s mission objective is to help customers with issues on mobility and health and age related conditions.

Jeff Newman, who accepted the award on behalf of Ableworld, Southampton, had been a milkman before he became a franchisee. In his previous job he had witnessed several injuries and mobility issues suffered by elderly customers, and knew how vital the products and services offered by Ableworld were.

Jeff teamed up with his son Steven, and his business partner Chris, who had been in the building trade. Together they purchased an Ableworld franchise for the Southampton region and opened their doors in May 2014.

Presenting the award, franchise director Paul Boniface praised Ableworld, Southampton’s commitment and performance.

Paul said: “As well as having many letters of appreciation from grateful customers, Jeff and the team have outperformed all our business objectives since they opened.”
Jeff said: “We looked at moving into other areas like the specialist side of the business but we would like to concentrate on building our current customer-base.” When asked how does Jeff feel about owning the franchise? “It has met all our expectations,” he said. “Especially the satisfaction we get from providing the right products for our customers.”
